Symptoms of Paddy Choenophora disease
- Symptoms mostly occur during the flowering stage of the Paddy crop. Choenophora pathogen structures are seen feeding on the pollen of Paddy flowers.
- The disease occurs during uneven rains in Kharif as well as Rabi seasons.
- The structures of the plant pathogens are seen on the pollen grains of the Paddy panicles.
Management of Paddy Choenophora disease
- It is very easy to control the Choenophora blight disease in Paddy if we notice at the early stages of identifying the disease.
- There are many chemical fungicides that are available in the market in order to control the Paddy Choenophora blight disease.
- Spray fungicides such as Carbendazim 12% + Mancozeb 63% WP @ 300 gm/acre or 1.5gm/lt water.
- Never use power sPrayer while spraying the insecticides or fungicides in Paddy crop during the flowering stage.
- The trade names of these Carbendazim 12% + Mancozeb 63% WP are SAAF (UPL), Riper (Atul crop care) etc.
