National Agriculture Market (e-NAM) Scheme was approved on 1st July, 2015 with an initial allocation of Rs. 200 crores to link with 585 wholesale Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) mandis across the country through a common e-platform.

During 2018-19 and 2019-20, 415 additional mandis will be linked with e-NAM platform.
According to the latest data over 1 crore 65 lakhs, farmers registered on e- NAM, twenty-one (21) mandis where National Agriculture Market (NAM) is being formally launched would offer trading in commodities viz., chana dal, castor seeds, paddy, wheat, maize, onion, mustard and tamarind.
Twenty-five commodities including onion, potato, apple, wheat, pulses, coarse grains and cotton, have been identified for online trading in the e NAM portal.
In order to integrate wholesale mandis across the country with the online platform, the state governments have to amend their Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) Act.
e NAM states
So far, 585 mandis of 16 States and 02 UTs have been integrated with e- NAM.
To facilitate assaying of commodities for trading on e-NAM, common tradable parameters have been developed for 150 commodities.
The portal is available in English, Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Telugu, Bengali, Tamil, Odiya, and Punjabi (Total 9).
The Mobile app also developed and has launched in 6 local languages.
Currently, 826 FPOs have been on-boarded on the e-NAM portal.
Number of APMCs is more in Uttar Pradesh followed by Gujarat and Maharashtra states. Whereas lowest in Odisha> Pondichery> Chandigarh (Chandigarh’s Mandi are not in trading but registered under e-NAM).
